Origin

Russia, introduced by Dr. Gregory Levin from Garrygala Agricultural Research Station in Turksmenistan.

Type

Sweet-sour, soft seeded.

Description

Medium to large, round quality fruit with bright red skin. The arils are pinkish-red. Has an excellent sweet/tart taste almost like wine. The seeds are small and very soft.

From March(mainly dependent on weather conditions)

Uses

*Juicing, fresh eating and fresh marketing of fruit.

*According to Keith this is one of Dr. Levin's favourite varieties.

*The juice is of very high quality.

*The taste is said to be excellent and very popular in taste tests.

*Very similar to "Wonderful" but it has smaller, softer seeds which makes more pleasant to eat.

*Has the potential of becoming an important commercial variety
